What is Swastika?
Swastika can be interpreted as the four Vedas (Rig, Yajur, Sama, Atharva), which are the core Hindu scriptures. They can be thought of as the four goals of life: Dharma (right action), Artha (world prosperity), Kama (world enjoyment), Moksha (spiritual liberation). The limbs are also interpreted as representing the four seasons, the four directions, and the four yugas, or epochs (Satya, Treta, Dvapara, Kali).
The word swastika comes from Sanskrit: स्वस्तिक, romanized: svástika, meaning 'conducive to well being'.[7][8] In Hinduism, the right-facing symbol (卐) is called swastika, symbolizing surya ('sun'), prosperity and good luck, while the left-facing symbol (卍) is called sauvastika, symbolizing night or tantric aspects of Kali symbolizing the dark side.
