Who are we?
Our roots trace back primarily to the districts of Surat and Valsad in Gujarat, India. Though we may live far from our gaam, our hearts remain connected to the place we call home.
Gaam is more than a village; it represents unity, kinship, belonging, and community. Today, our families are spread across the globe — from Bardoli to Detroit, Austin to Auckland, Paris to Panama, and London to Louisiana.
We embrace a beautiful blend of Indian heritage and modern Western outlook, while cherishing the values of family, culture, education, and charity.
Wherever life takes us, our roots unite us, and our gaam will always live in our hearts.
Our Village
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The soul of India lives in its villages.” Our gaams truly reflect this spirit. Village life is simple, peaceful, and closely connected to nature. Away from the noise of city life, people enjoy the warmth of family, friendship, and community.
Our people are hardworking and deeply rooted in agriculture, growing sugarcane, rice, wheat, and seasonal vegetables. Faith and spirituality are part of everyday life, with prayers, bhajans, and devotion to the Lord. Fresh grains, milk, homemade dairy products, fruits, and vegetables are gifts of the land.
Our gaams are more than villages; they represent simplicity, hard work, faith, togetherness, and a way of life we proudly call our roots.
Our History
The surname Patel is one of the most widely used surnames in Gujarat today. Before adopting the name Patel, our ancestors were traditionally known as Kanbis. The Kanbis were hardworking, ambitious farmers who cultivated the land and built prosperous families. The word Patidar means “landowner.” Through their dedication, hard work, and success in agriculture, many Kanbis became landowners and came to be known as Patel Patidars.
